So... I never got around to doing Kaylin's 9 month post and I'm late with this one. Where does the time go? I feel like someone has pushed the fast forward button on my life these days. I think about writing new posts all the time, but then something else (lesson planning, bottle washing, SLEEP!) takes prescedent and then I get crazy behind. Anyway... here we are!
Kaylin turned 10 months old two weeks ago. I can't believe we'll be celebrating her first birthday in a month and a half. It really blows my mind that my sweet little bundle has grown up so much. She is crawling all over the place and "cruising" holding onto the furniture. She's taken a couple of steps, but hasn't really started walking yet. She has 3 teeth and another 3 are on the way in. I felt so bad for her when she was starting to teeth. There was one night that no matter what we did - Tylenol, Motrin, cold wash cloths, frozen teething rings, teething tablets - she was just miserable. Nothing makes you feel worse than not being able to "fix" your child.
Billy got to spend a lot of time home during November. :) Kaylin and I enjoyed our pancake Sundays!

Kaylin and I had to say goodbye to some wonderful people recently. I got an opportunity to work closer to home so that meant taking Kaylin away from the two women who have been caring for her since she was 6 weeks old. It was such a hard thing to do, but I knew that ultimately it was the right decision for us. I can't thank them enough for taking excellent care of Kaylin and supporting me as a new mom. I miss them so much and hope to see them soon!

We celebrated Kaylin's first Thanksgiving in south Georgia with Billy's side of the family. Kaylin was sick - she had a fever of 103 for the first couple of days. Poor thing. We were pretty close to taking her to the ER, but the fever finally broke and she started feeling better at the end of our trip.

Getting ready for Christmas!!
Note: Christmas has come and gone and Kaylin turned 11 months old today. Whoops. I'm late again. I'll try to update again soon!

We got up really early and drove the rest of the way Thursday morning. Kaylin was great in the car! (much better than I had expected!)

(Is this stuff safe, Dad?)
The plan was to walk around the Quarter after that, but Kaylin was not having it. She needed to get down and play and was ready for a nap. I was disappointed that the day didn't go as I had planned, but nothing teaches you how to go with the flow like having a baby! :)
(I won't tell you what she's doing back there!)
Billy played golf with the boys the next day while I visited with Sean (who was on his way back to TX) and Jeremy. I had hoped to make it back down to the Quarter to take all the pictures I had in mind, but Kaylin was exhausted from her late night and took a crazy long nap.
Finally awake and happy! We grabbed some lunch...
and walked around the hotel...
The next day was the wedding! Kaylin looks adorable in the outfit Billy had picked out for her! The wedding was at 7pm (8pm our time) and was a Catholic ceremony. It was beautiful and the bride and groom looked so happy, but my sweet baby girl was not! She slept through the beginning, but the music woke her up. We spent the rest of the ceremony pacing in the back of the church or nursing in the confessional. :)
We headed over to the reception after that. We ate some good food and got to talk to Nick and Lindsey before Kaylin was D-O-N-E. She partied until 11pm (midnight our time!) and needed to get to bed.

Just kidding, Kelly. We wish you lived closer so we could see you more often.
So, back to Kaylin. She's doing so many fun things now - crawling, eating more foods, and she even used a sippy cup for the first time this month. She says Da-Da, blows raspberries and rolls her tongue. She still loves playing peek-a-boo and splashing in the bathtub.
