Baby toes!

I just love this picture! I wanted to use it on her birth announcement, but we ended up choosing one that only allows one picture. (And I guess we should show her face!)

Kaylin & Copa

We're really happy with the way Copa has adjusted to having a new baby around the house. We weren't really sure how she would handle it since she has been our "baby" since we brought her home two years ago. We have spoiled the crap out of her! One of the major things we have changed is where Copa sleeps. We used to let her sleep in bed with us, but now that Kaylin is here (and sleeping with us), that just didn't feel safe anymore. We felt really bad giving Copa the boot, but of course the safety of our sweet baby girl comes first. Copa has a bed on the floor of our room, and we assumed she'd sleep there - but she has been sleeping on the bed in the guest room! Ha! Whenever Kaylin wakes up during the night, Copa comes in to check on her and then goes back to the guest room. It's really sweet. I hope Kaylin & Copa will be great friends! Here are some pictures of the two...

Video

Here's a quick little video of Kaylin being adorable. (I'm not biased at all!) You may not laugh at Mommy's ridiculous commentary. ;)

2 week check-up

Kaylin had her 2 week check-up yesterday and she is doing great! She's up to 6 lb, 8.5 oz. and 21 in. long! It was our first outing alone, (eek!) but we did alright. I had to breastfeed in the waiting room - first time I've fed in public!

Today has been really productive! Kaylin had a great night, so I got a lot of rest. We went to bed at 10:30 and she got up at 3:30 and 7:45 to eat and get changed. Five hours of uninterrupted sleep was amazing!!! I was able to put her in the sling for a while and (I'm going to sound SO 1950's housewife here!) put a roast in the crock pot, vacuum the whole house and do some laundry. She just got finished feeding again and is sleeping on her Boppy in my lap while I type with 2 hands! :)

First Bath & Bottle

Kaylin got her first real bath the other day, and as you can tell from the pictures, she didn't really care for it. Bath time stresses me out, but I'm sure Billy & I will get better at it with more practice.

(Ahhh... I feel better with clothes on!)

She also got fed by Daddy for the first time! Mommy doesn't really like pumping, but I think Daddy enjoyed feeding his daughter!

Family visits

Kaylin got to meet a lot of her family the weekend after she was born. Aunt Molly, Uncle Nate, Preston, Aunt Caroline, Morgan, Hannah, Jack, and Amber all came up to see her. Grandma (Billy's mom) had been with us since Kaylin's birth (THANK GOD! I could not have survived those first days without her! She is a saint!) and Grandpa (Billy's dad) came up on Wednesday. She also met Aunt Evan, Taylor and Jack. (She met Uncle Mike in the hospital, but we didn't get a picture!) Kaylin's other Grandpa (my Dad) came up on Monday when Kaylin was a week old. Here are some pictures of Kaylin with her family:

Introducing Kaylin Danielle

Kaylin Danielle was born 2/2/09 at 11:21 a.m. She weighed 6 lbs, 7 oz and was 20 inches long. Mommy was in labor for about 38 hours and was so relieved when Kaylin arrived! (I'll post the full birth story soon!)

In the meantime, here are pictures of Kaylin's first day:
